Amber Marie Hafer, 38, of Indianapolis passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at her home. She was born in Litchfield Park, AZ to Robert Latimer and the late Deborah Aksamit.

She will be remembered as a mother who made her children’s wellbeing a priority above everything else. Amber had a passion for music and took musical performance in college where she played the flute. A major enthusiast of fitness, she shared that with others by teaching gymnastics.

After being diagnosed later in her life with Mitochondrial Disease, she immersed herself in researching her disorder to the point where she became an expert. She participated in panel discussions on the part of the patient, and volunteered her time to assist others to offer support and advocacy. She endeavored to alleviate the emotional suffering to those who shared her physical ailment.

Survivors include her loving husband, Dax Cristian Hafer; her four children, Chester “Chetty” Bryant, Emma Bryant, Anna Bryant, and Sophia Hafer; her father, Robert Latimer and his wife Laurie Latimer; her adopted parents, Ed and Raine Haydon; her grandparents, Dick and JoAnn Milanese. She is also survived by numerous extended family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cora Rose Bryant.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services (1458 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225).  There will be additional visitation prior to the service on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Final disposition will be cremation.
