On behalf of the Société de Police - IPD Adam & Edward, our condolences to the family and friends of David P. McGrath on learning of his passing.
To the family we share the following thought that was written: Live that people may speak well of thee at thy grave. The just needs no memorial, for his deeds are his monument.

We were so sorry to hear of David's passing. We grew up in the same neighborhood and are now back. Our deepest sympathies to the family. We had planned to be at the funeral, but made a trip south because Gary's youngest brother is in ICU. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. David was a very giving person! RIP Davis and God Bless and keep all of you.

Dave was a good, solid officeholder. He was known for staying in touch with his constituents, who re=elected him numerous times from a district that was not solidly Republican. Dave earned his re-election by advocating for his people to DPW and DMD many times. Most issues are not Republican or Democrat, and Dave knew that. He was not flashy, but he was effective. I wish we had more Daves.

Losing a parent is the worse heartache. Remembering our last conversation when you were comforting me as I was dealing with the death of my Dad. Thank you for your kind words and reaching out when you didn't have to. Rest well in heaven David P.
