Edward Cicierko Obituary

Edward Walter Cicierko, 77, of Indianapolis, passed onto the next life on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Community Hospital South.  He was born on October 1, 1941 in Rozbórz Długi, Poland to the late Jacek Bozeck and Cecylia Cicirko (Jan Fiega).

Edward is a survivor of the World War II Holocaust as an infant & young child.  During the war, young Edward was smuggled throughout Poland in an effort to evade Axis Powers.  Eventually his mother and step-father reunited with him and fled to Venezuela where Edward spent his early years.  Following the war, the family immigrated into Indianapolis.

Edward attended Emmerich Manual High School and worked at Shapiro’s Deli.  He also delivered papers for the Indianapolis Star in the 1960s.  In his 30s and 40s he gained a position at RCA (later known as Thompson Consumer Electronics) as a data technician.  It is through RCA that he met and fell in love with Eloisa Guerrero Seañez during a company trip in the mid-1980s in El Paso, Texas.  After much correspondence over mail and many flights to & from El Paso, they married on May 20, 1988 in El Paso County, Texas.  In later years, he worked at the FedEx Indianapolis Hub as a custodian, and later as a security guard until 2017.

Edward was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served for some time.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was very adventurous and enjoyed the outdoors.  He loved taking vacations near Raccoon Lake in Rockville, Indiana with his family.  Other times he loved visiting the desert region of the southwestern United States.

Edward is preceded in death by his father, Jacek Bozeck, his mother, Cecylia Cicirko (Fiega), his step-father, Jan Fiega, brother, Zbignief Fiega, and beloved pets, Minnie & Buddy.

Edward’s survivors include his wife of 31 years, Eloisa Cicierko (Guerrero Seañez), five children, Edward Michael Cicierko (Cindy Smith), Catherine Cicierko, Angela Cicierko, Nidia Cicierko (Alejandro Lopez), and Cindy Cicierko (Ryan), many grandchildren & great-grandchildren including Gabriel Lopez, Miranda Lopez, Daniel Lopez, Sofia Lopez, Raeann Cicierko, Casey Cicierko, Andrew Cicierko, and is blessed by many others. He is also survived by many cousins residing in the United States, Canada, and Poland.  Pet survivors include Daisy, Coco, and Annie.
