Edwin R. A. Mader, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.  He was born on December 2, 1927 to the late Ferdinand Henry and Catherine Magdalene (Hill) Mader in Fort Loramie, Ohio. 
 

Ed retired after 43 years as a supervisor for Vonnegut Hardware and was a long time member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. 

Survivors include his sisters, Agnes Hall and Viola Higgins; thirty-six nieces and nephews; and many wonderful neighbors and friends from church.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sylvester, Eugene and Alfred Mader; sister, Alfrieda Streit; and ten nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2905 S. Carson Ave. with one hour of calling prior at the church.  Additional visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12 from 2 to 6 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St.
