Eli Robert FreemanDecember 16, 1990 ~ October 7, 2017 (age 26)
Eli Robert Freeman, 26, left us suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, October 7, 2017. He took center stage in our lives on December 16, 1990. Growing up, he attended St. Roch Catholic School, St. Monica Catholic School, Lincoln Middle School in Pike Township, and graduated from Pike High School in 2009. Eli attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and Ivy Tech in Indianapolis.
Indulging his love for music, Eli played cello through middle school and high school before deciding to follow his musician father, Rick Freeman, by taking up guitar. Eli continued playing guitar almost every day thereafter.
Eli was a barista at the Beech Grove Starbucks for several years, and also worked as a server before finding that he really enjoyed working as a landscaper since earlier this year.
He is survived by his mother, Claire Grove and her husband Jeff; brother, Zeke Freeman; Granny Sylvia Alsip and her husband, Tom; and Grandpa Jack Conolly.
Eli cast his circle of immediate family wider than most and includes Aunt Deb Cairns, Aunt Kim and Uncle Tom Conolly, Uncle Pete Conolly, Cousin Ashley Barr, and Conolly Cousins: Lyla, Michael, Veronica, Rachel, and Peter Thomas.
Eli is predeceased by his father, Rick Freeman, and his grandparents, Bob and Ruth Freeman.
His family will remember Eli with a gathering held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017 in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services (1458 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46225). In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to: Humane Society of Indianapolis, Eagle Creek Park Foundation, Inc., or The Salvation Army.
