James Alvin Slagle, 76, Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016.  He was born on May 14, 1940 to the late Bertie and Sally (Stringer) Slagle in Somerset, KY.  James worked as a self-employed car dealer for many years. He was a man of faith who never met a stranger and his family was dear to him. Survivors include his children, Theresa Rejko (Jesse), Kathy Henson, and James Slagle Jr.; siblings, Lorine Eakers (Bob), Myrtle McClure, Bobby Slagle (Sandy), and Paul Slagle (Robin); grandchildren Lisa Spivey, T.J. Arnold (April), D.J. Henson (Michelle), Dustin Henson, Christa Slagle, James Slagle III (Stephanie), Brittany Henson and Daniel Slagle; great grandchildren, Cory, Lindsay, Dylan, Logan, Rachel, Taylor, Braydin, Kaylista, and Ava. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Shirley (Crick) Slagle; and brothers, Ernest and Frank Slagle. A service will be held Thursday, August 25 at 1 p.m. in the Shelby Street Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, 8620 Shelby St., 46227, with a visitation there from 11 a.m. until the time of services.  Arrangements and care were provided by Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services.
