James “J.D.” David Burns, age 46, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on April 17, 1970 to Edmund Alan and Judith Lynn (Gard) Burns in Indianapolis.  James was proud to have served in the United States Army and was a devoted family man.  He was a loving husband, father, son, and grandfather who always put his family before himself.  J.D. was a mechanic in Fleet Services for the City of Indianapolis for over 22 years.  He was a Mustang enthusiast and could fix almost anything.  Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Carolyn Marie (Blankenship) Burns; sons, Randy Burns (Sandra) and Jarred Burns; parents, Edmund and Judith Burns; brother, John Burns; sister, Suzanne Burns; and grandchildren, Tania, Jacob and Sophia Burns.  Family and friends will gather on Sunday, October 23 from 3 to 6 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S.
