James C. Nielsen, Jr., “Jimmy,” 60, passed away on August 19, 2016.  He was tragically taken from his family and friends during his evening bicycle ride. Jimmy lived his life to the fullest and spoke often of his cruises to the “islands” and his motorcycle trips with his life partner and best friend, Robin Beck.  Jimmy’s infectious laugh and smile would brighten any room he walked into.  He will be missed immensely.

Jimmy proudly served his community as a Marion County Sheriff Deputy, retiring in 2002.  He was the co-founder of Trinity Executive Services and Bio-Trauma 911.  Jimmy was an avid motorcyclist, amateur radio operator, pilot, and scuba dive master.  He was a graduate of the 85th session at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Antonia Nielsen.  He is survived by life partner, Robin Beck; his son, James C. Nielsen III; and brothers, Carl (Patricia) Nielsen and Christian Nielsen.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving or Indiana Concerns of Police Survivors.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, August 26 from 4-8 p.m. at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Roch Catholic Church on Saturday, August 27 at 10 a.m.  Prior to the Mass, visitation at the funeral home will be held at 9 a.m. with prayers being said at 9:30 a.m.  Burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
