John Thomas McClellan, 58, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017.  He was born on November 19, 1958 to the late Kasbar Thomas and Birdie (Hunter) McClellan in Indianapolis. 

John was a member and past treasurer for the Glaziers Local Union No. 1165; he retired from Hoosier Glass.  He enjoyed fishing, vacationing in Florida and playing the lottery.  John loved working in the yard, jazz music and helping people, especially the elderly.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family and loved sitting on the front porch with his wife talking about “life.” 

Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Christine “Chris” (Van Meter) McClellan; daughters, Sarah C. Bodie (Gregory) and Kaylyn E. Beeson (Dominic); siblings, Judy Narmore (Don), Elizabeth Nanny (Larry), Tim McClellan (Anita) and Steve McClellan (Kim); in-laws, Dwayne R. and Vicki Jo Van Meter; and grandchildren, Caralyne Jo, Charlie Mae, Elizabeth Kathleen-Marie. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Loretta Haptonstall, Debra Eversole and Robin Smilko. 

A private family visitation will take place on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 9 to 9:30 a.m. with a public graveside service immediately following at 10 a.m. in Round Hill Cemetery
