Justin Tyler Slack, 23, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away June 17, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was born May 22, 1994 to Tonya Slack and Mike Teague in Indianapolis. Justin attended Mt. Vernon High School and later New Palestine High School.  He was employed by Olive Garden and was a student at Ivy Tech.  Justin was a kind young man with a huge heart who cared deeply for his family. He spent a few years as a Navy Sea Cadet where he excelled and was a passionate and strong advocate for people who struggled with addiction. Justin was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing many different sports throughout his life. His biggest act of love and kindness was saving the lives of others through organ donation.

He is survived by his mother, Tonya Slack Loring; dad, Steve Sandefur; step-mother, Margaret Sandefur; sisters, Ariana and Marilyn Sandefur and Mikayla Teague; brothers, Landyn Loring, Izaiah and Devin Teague and Jonah and Issac Crawford; grandparents, Debbie Clinard, Steve and Linda Sandefur, Ida Slack and Larry and Pam Teague; great-aunt, Diane “Nanny” Vaughn; and great-grandparents, Jack and Marilyn Uhls. Justin is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Danny “Boone” Slack; and great uncle and mentor Gary “Bud” Rott.
