Kevin Michael Ries, 59, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.  He was born on March 7, 1958 in Indianapolis to the late John F. and Mary H. (Sullivan) Ries.  Kevin loved the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame but his biggest passion was the Indianapolis 500.  He had many friends and will be sorely missed.  Survivors include his siblings, John “J.T.” Ries, Sallie Lydick (Jim), Rosie Young (Phil) and Barbara Stumpf (Bill); best friend and brother-in-law, Bill Stumpf; life-long friends, Buck Janes and Dennis Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Joe and David Ries.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with visitation prior to Mass from 12 to 2 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to German Shepherd Rescue Indy, 9000 Keystone Crossing, Indianapolis, IN 46240.  Arrangements and care provided by Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services.  Online condolences:  www.LauckFuneralHome.com
