Lois D. Kowitz, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017.  She was born on July 8, 1936 in Indianapolis.  Lois was the former owner of the Vollrath Tavern on the Old Southside of Indianapolis and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Survivors include her four sons, Bob, Tony, Thomas (Jeanine) and Randy Matthews; brother, Pete Baldwin; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Baldwin Sharp.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 1 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union St., with visitation prior to the service from 11 a.m. until Mass in the church.  Arrangements and care were provided by Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.lauckfuneralhome.com .
