Richard L. Pitman, 81, of Indianapolis passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 in Plant City, Florida.  He was born on February 21, 1936.  After the death of his parents, Parke and Marie Norman he was adopted by Ben and Pat (Vescove) Pitman of Montezuma, Indiana.  Dick was a member of the 1954 Montezuma High School basketball team that made it to the sweet sixteen in the state championship.  He worked for Olin’s in Covington before joining AFLAC and relocating to Indianapolis.  After his retirement from AFLAC he went to work for Enterprise Rent-A-Car part-time driving cars, a job he truly enjoyed.  He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Beverly A. Ugo Pitman; special nephews, Marc Ugo (Jill) and Pete Ugo (Chris); brother, Charles Norman (Pat); sister, Kathryn Dotlich; sister-in-law, Doloris Ugo; aunt, Dolores Vescove; and many dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will gather Monday, April 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. in St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 W. 16th St.  Burial will follow services in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Clinton, Indiana.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher Catholic Church.
