Charles Joseph VanHoy

Charles Joseph VanHoy, age 82, of Greenwood, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019.  He was born on January 4, 1937 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late Omer J. and Mary C. (Meyer) VanHoy. 

Chuck served honorably in the United States Navy aboard the USS Thaddeus Parker; prior to retirement he worked for Athem Blue Cross/Blue Shield.  He enjoyed college basketball, was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church and the Bernard P. Sheridan Council # 6138 of the Knights of Columbus. 

Survivors include his son, Andrew VanHoy (Suzie) of Cincinnati; sister, Dee Grinnell (Bill) of California; brother, Bud VanHoy of California; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean (Kushlan) VanHoy; and sisters, Peg Sefton and Joan Blount. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church with visitation prior to Mass from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions have been suggested to Our Lady of the Greewood Catholic Church.
