Donald Dyer Obituary

Donald L. Dyer “Red”, 68, of Seymour passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018. He was born in Huntington, WV to Oscar “Junior” Dyer and Alpha Mae Dyer.

He was a forklift driver for Chevrolet Truck and Bus. Donald loved fishing and hunting, college football and spending time with his family (especially his children and grandchildren). You could count on the fact that you would talk to him every day. He was very connected to his family always. He was, without a doubt the wittiest person you would ever meet. He never missed a beat.

He is survived by his son, Donald L. Dyer Jr. (Melissa) of Greenwood; his daughter, Holly Mattingly (Carl) of Seymour; his ex-wife, Janet Mae Dyer; his mother, Alpha Mae Dyer; his six grandchildren, Jeremy, Anthony, and Grace Dyer, Jessica Riley, Patrick and Emily Mattingly; his two great grandchildren, Bentley and Oaklee; his sister, Carol Garner; two nieces, Stacy Criswell, Kristy Bowen: one nephew, Steve Garner; six great nieces and nephews, Zach, Blake, Cade, Brooke, Bryce and Brady. He is also survived by numerous extended family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar “Junior” Dyer and his infant brother, Roger Dale.
