John “Jack” Steven Botos, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. He was born on November 23, 1932 in Indianapolis to the late John and Gertrude (Cain) Botos.
Jack attended Assumption Grade School and graduated from Manuel High School. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Jack retired from National Starch and Chemical after 30+ years of employment and in retirement worked for Shank Golf Course (free golf).
Survivors include his three sons, Randy (Valerie) Botos, Steve (Sandy) Botos and Anthony (Kim) Botos; sister, Loretta Dees; grandchildren, Paula (Allan) Johnson, Kevin Botos, Angie (Erik) Jensen, Natalie Botos, Joseph Botos, Steven Botos and Stephanie Botos; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred L. (Honeycutt) Botos; his parents; a son, John “Jackie” Botos and siblings, Thomas Botos and William “Billy” Botos.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St. Morning prayers will be said on Tuesday, June 19 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union St. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
