Joseph P. Horan, 88, of Carmel, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017.  He was born on January 23, 1929 to the late James and Mary L. (Murphy) Horan in Cleveland, Ohio.  He served honorably in the United States Air Force and was a psychologist prior to retirement.  Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Peg (Pepperney) Horan; son, Benjamin (Erika) Horan; and grandchildren, Patrick, Reilly, Griffin and Evan.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, James, Raymond, Robert and Rosemary Tighe.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. in St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Rd., Westfield, with visitation from 10 a.m. until Mass at 11 a.m.  Memorial contributions have been suggested to Catholic Relief Services, 228 W.
