Karen K. McDowell, age 69, of Indianapolis passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017. She was born on October 14, 1948 in Indianapolis to the late Arthur and Mary Biech.

She worked for American State Insurance Company as a clerk. Karen enjoyed doing puzzles and drinking coffee and watching her favorite television shows. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Rumple (Michael) of Indianapolis; her brother, Larry Biech (Chris); her sister, Darla Doty (Don). She is also survived by other extended family and close friends. Aside from her loving parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Biech.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services (1458 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225) with burial to follow at New Crown Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
