Krista Jo (Ritter) Bugenhagen, 41, passed away courageously and in peace at her home on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Krista was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and spent her childhood living in Birmingham, Michigan and then Bloomington, Illinois. At the time of her death, Krista lived with her husband, Jim, in Stamford, Connecticut and their two young sons, Mason and Damon.
Krista attended college at Northern Illinois University, earning a Bachelor's of Administration in Marketing. Krista then moved to New York City and in 2001 she began her career with Chelsea Piers Sports and Entertainment Complex in New York City where she excelled in her roles as Executive Assistant and Manager of the Human Resources Departments at the New York and Connecticut locations. For over 15 years, Krista also served as the Administrator of the Sky Rink Youth Scholarship Fund, a role for which she was extremely passionate.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Bugenhagen; sons, Mason and Damon; father, Richard (Tony) Ritter and mother, Barbara Ritter of Shell Knob, Missouri; brother, Matthew Ritter and nephew, Colin Ritter of Marengo, Illinois; and extended family.
Two separate celebration of life ceremonies will be held in New York City and Indianapolis, Indiana. The Mass of Christian Burial in Indianapolis will be held in the Calvary Cemetery Chapel (435 W. Troy Ave.) on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gerald Kirkhoff presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to St. Patrick's School Scholarship Fund "in memory of Krista Bugenhagen" for her children, Mason and Damon. For contribution details please call 914-234-7914.
