Michael "Mikey" Gregory Walters II

Michael “Mikey” Gregory Walters II, age 15, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 after saving the lives of eight people through the generous gift of organ donation.  He was born on July 30, 2003 in Indianapolis to Jessica Monday and Michael G. Walters. 

Mikey’s smile warmed the hearts of those who knew him and his presence filled every room he entered. Mikey loved writing lyrics and was passionate about rapping. With his ambition and professionalism toward his music, Mikey developed prolific writing skills by the age of fifteen. He embodied fearlessness and love, drawing friends and family to his side. He was the most loyal son, friend, and brother a person could have.

Survivors include his loving and devoted parents, Jessica Monday and Michael G. Walters; siblings, Jade Quinn, Jasmine Rose Walters and Jackson Lee Walters; grandparents, Michael Monday, Becki Monday, Jennettia Arney and Stanley Walters; Aunts and Uncles, Monica Monday, Spring Devine, Christopher Monday (Renny), Suzanne Harris, Amanda Walters and Sarah Hritz; and nephew, Anthony Michael Dean. 

Family and friends will gather on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 3 to 5 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis.  A service celebrating his life will follow visitation at 5 p.m.
