Minta "Micki" Mae (Bruce) Caughey

Minta “Micki” Mae Caughey, age 81, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2018 in the Franciscan Health Hospice House.  She was born on October 3, 1936 in Indianapolis to the late Maurice J. and Oma (Roe) Bruce.  She was known by her grandchildren as “Fun Grandma.”

Micki loved theatre and acting and performed in many plays with Q Artistry Performing Arts and the Indianapolis Senior Citizens Center.  She enjoyed dancing, acting, antiquing, looming, traveling (Paris), gambling (especially Las Vegas).  Micki was active in business with her husband for many years prior to retirement. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years, who passed away on the same date 19-years prior, Marion “Ben” Caughey; son, Terry Royse; and her sister, Roberta “Joann” Brown.  

She is survived by her children, Thomas (Louise) Royse, Susie (David) Meredith, Kim (Wayne) VanCleave, Jim (Karen) Caughey, Ben (Holly) Caughey, Kelli (Tim) Young and Krista Caughey; brother, William Bruce; grandchildren, Jarrett, Carly, Ashley, Nathan, Thomas, McKenzie, Shai, Angela, Jimmy, Stephanie, Audrie, David, Alex, Keegan, Meika, Clayton, Gretchen and Lukas; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends will gather on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Vineyard Community Church, 512 S. Madison Ave., Greenwood.  Services celebrating her life will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jonathan Bricker.  A luncheon will follow services at the church. 

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Franciscan Health Hospice House for their loving care.  Memorial contributions have been suggested to Joy’s House at UIndy (an adult day service), 1615 E. Castle Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227
