Resa Dianne Hodge, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in IU Methodist Hospital surrounded by her loving family and close friends. She was born on January 13, 1948 in Franklin, Kentucky to the late Robert Earl and Frances K. (Bayles) Sloan.
Dianne was the neighborhood mom and was known as “Momma D.” She was a great cook and would feed anyone in need or give you the shirt off her back. One of her greatest joys, in addition to her family, was fishing with her “man.” She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the old south-side community she was proud to call home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by former husbands, Edward C. Seyfried and Charles E. Hodge; and brothers, Gary and Jeff Sloan.
Survivors include her children, Samantha Jo Sloan, Margaret “Maggie” Hines and James Hines; siblings, Rhonda Weatherspoon (Ronnie Herring), Sheila Witt (Buddy) and Michael Seyfried (Tairrie); grandchildren, Jordan Baise, Isaiah Baise, Brittany Mitchell, Collien Hines, Jamie Hines, Carmela Hines and Moranda Hines; two great-grandchildren, Seth Bernard II and Tucker Riggs; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be planned in the near future.
