Robert Leon Keller Sr., 69, of Indianapolis died on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at his home. He was born on December 8, 1949 in Danville, Indiana to the late James and Anita Keller.
Robert married Anita “Jo” Hinkle on August 12, 1970 and raised three sons together. He provided for his family by working for CSX Railroad Co. in various positions until his retirement. Robert was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He and his wife enjoyed traveling together and socializing with close friends. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fixing things around the house, and various do- it- yourself projects. He will be remembered for his ability to talk with anyone, he didn’t know a stranger. Also, people knew him by his electric wheelchair that he was always seen in.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Anita J. Keller “Jo”; his three sons, Morgan L. Keller (Stacey), Robert L. Keller Jr. (Brandy), and James C. Keller (Christa); his eight grandchildren, Breana, Nicholas, Lucas, Tynlee, Brystol, Courtney, Carley and Carson Keller; his two great grandchildren, Hayden and Olivia Keller. He is also survived by two couples that were close to Robert and Jo, Irene and Dan Emery, Steve and Charlotte Roark.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church ( 1530 Union Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225) with burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services (1458 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225). A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Thursday before mass.
