Robert Elmer Murphy

Robert Elmer Murphy, 83, of Avon, passed away on  Wednesday, January 9th, 2019. He was born in Indianapolis  on March 29, 1935 to the late Charles and Frances Murphy.

He graduated  from Purdue University with a degree in agriculture and  was a farmer and small business owner. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, extended family, gardening, reading, tractors and working on his model railroad. He was a 4-H leader and a member of the Optimist Club. Bob took a fervent interest in his Purdue UniversityAlumni and watching Purdue football and the Colts play.

He is survived by his two sons, Mike Murphy (Kelly) and Robert Murphy (Jamie); his three grandchildren, Andrea Dittmer (Casey), Lucy Murphy  and Beatrix Murphy; three great grandchildren, Dawson, Roslyn, and Reeann; his brother, Joe Murphy; his two sisters, Virginia Blankenbaker and Rosemary Wiegant. He is also survived by numerous extended family and close friends.

A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.  Arrangements and care provided by Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services.
