Rosemary Schludecker Stahl, age 91, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 in Franciscan Health. She was born on November 2, 1927 in Indianapolis to the late Fred and Stella (Schaub) Hofmeister.
Rosemary was a graduate of St. Mary Academy and was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was very active. She was a volunteer for many years at St. Francis Hospital (Franciscan Health) and the St. Paul Hermitage in Beech Grove which she truly enjoyed.
Survivors include her children, James Schludecker and Karen Kuehn (husband, Mike); Carl’s children, Jim Stahl, Margaret Strack (George), Carolyn O’Donnell and Bill Stahl; grandchildren, Kimberly Ashby (husband, John), Brent Schludecker (wife, Melinda) and Michelle Young (husband, Justin); seven great-grandchildren; and many extended family members through her second marriage to Carl Stahl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Stella Hofmeister; beloved husbands, Ralph J. Schludecker in 1972 and Carl Stahl in 2000; son, Richard Schludecker; brothers, Fred and Ed Hofmeister; granddaughter, Heidi Schludecker; and Carl’s children, Rosie Dufek, Dick Stahl and Dolores Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union St., Indianapolis with visitation in the church prior to Mass from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery next to her first husband, Ralph Schludecker, who passed away in 1972.
