Tom Mascari went to Heaven peacefully on July 4th at the age of 65.
He attended Sacred Heart grade school, Cathedral High School and Lear Siegler Business School. He worked for Carrier / United Technologies for 30 years as a computer programmer and technical support analyst. He was also employed by Van Ausdall & Farrar for 10 years as a buyer. He ended his career at Guerin Catholic High School in the custodial maintenance department; there he made many friends and enjoyed seeing his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy & Jen on a daily basis. Tom truly had a love for Roncalli High School and although not an alumnus he was a true Rebel at heart!
Tom leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years Lora Lisa Smith Mascari, sons Tommy II & Tony Mascari, daughter-in-law Jen Brown – Mascari and future son-in-law David Brock. He leaves behind the joys of his life – grandchildren: Kirsten, Paige and Tommy III. In addition, sisters: Marie Ann Mascari, Natalie Miles (Lafayette, IN) and Mary Margaret Farah (Rockledge, FL) along with brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins galore!
Tom was a member of St. Roch parish for 42 years and after moving to the northside he became a parishioner of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Westfield. He was a family man who enjoyed watching Colts and Pacers games. He especially loved attending Guerin Catholic basketball and football games and he loved watching his grandchildren participate in all of their activities. Tom enjoyed relaxing in his rocking chair on the front porch, sitting in the sunroom and playing solitaire. His favorite things included being outdoors and spending time with his family.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home on Thursday, July 12 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, July 13 at 11:00 AM at St. Roch Catholic Church.
