Thomas Mack Steinkamp, 74, of Greenwood died on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 (exactly nine years to the day after his beloved wife Donna passed). He was born on July 23, 1943 in Seymour, Indiana to the late Mack and Martha Steinkamp.
Tom provided for his family by operating his own business, Albany Liquors in Beech Grove . He was a connoisseur of fine wine and was President of a local wine tasting club, Les Ami Du Vin. Tom also led tours of various wine regions in California and France. He was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church and was a past vice president of the Sertoma Club. His other interests included reading and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, John T. Steinkamp (Jean DeLong) of Greenwood; his daughter, Rachel Putnam of Indianapolis; his brother, Steven Steinkamp; his three grandchildren, Sarah Ritchie (Noah), Jordan Steinkamp, and Jaclyn Steinkamp; his great granddaughter, Minerva Ritchie. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Lea Steinkamp.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services (1458 South Meridian Street) with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
