Memory Eternal: Annette Cecile Glass May 7, 1953 – August 16, 2025
Annette Cecile Glass, age 72, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and formerly of Texas, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Ascension/St. Vincent Hospital.
Born in Oakland, California, to Edward John and Margaret Ann (Criss) Green, Annette lived a life marked by service, conviction, and deep spiritual devotion. She attended the University of Texas and served as a Legislative Aid for the State of Texas, where her integrity and dedication left a lasting impact.
Following her retirement, Annette sought a community rooted in Orthodox Christian faith and found her spiritual home at The Joy of All Who Sorrow Orthodox Church in Indianapolis. She embraced the life of the Church and was active in many of its ministries. Her administrative and writing expertise were useful skills in applying for grants and serving on the Church Board. Annette had a great sense of humor and discovered a joke to share for all occasions. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Annette is survived by her son, Koen Oscar Glass; her sister, Maureen Shannon; her devoted caregiver, George Unseld; and her cherished fellow parishioners. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Edward John Green, Jr. and Kathleen Ann Marie Theresa Hughs.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at The Joy of All Who Sorrow Orthodox Church, 1516 N. Delaware St., Indianapolis, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at 4:00 p.m. at Holy Transfiguration Cemetery, 4636 Fall Creek Rd., Crawfordsville, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Annette’s memory by offering prayers or making a donation to the Church she loved so dearly.
May her memory be eternal.
