Anton Jermaine Chandler

Anton Jermaine Chandler was born on January 14, 1973 in Bitburg, Germany to Roosevelt and Dorothy Chandler.  Anton’s family moved to Gary, Indiana where Anton attended William A. Wirt High School and graduated the Class of 1991.  He later attended Indiana University Northwest and relocated to Avon, Indiana. 

Anton owned and operated his own restaurant, Chandlers BBQ.  Anton was later employed by Amtrak and Cigna Healthcare. 

Anton married Kiresha Willis on May 27, 2005.  To this union three beautiful children were born.

Anton was a follower of the Nation of Islam.  He was a driven and dedicated individual who accomplished whatever he set his mind to.  Anton had a fun loving personality and loved to joke and laugh with family and friends.  He was a die hard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.  He loved to BBQ (the BBQ King) and especially loved spending time with his family.

Anton Jermaine Chandler departed this life on October 16, 2021 at the age of 48 years.  He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Chandler.

He leaved to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Kiresha Chandler; three children, Quran, Jynesis and Mecca Chandler; his loving mother, Dorothy Chandler; one sister, Kiana “Nikki” Chandler; two brothers, Maurice (Tyffyne) and Shawn (Kim) Chandler; mother-in-law, Betty Willis; sister-in-law, Stranda (Ronald) James; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other family members and friends. 

A service celebrating his life will take place on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 1 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46225.  Visitation will precede the service from 11 to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
