Ashley Nicole Crook

Ashley Nicole Crook, 34, of Indianapolis, passed on Friday, March 3, 2023.  She was born on September 6, 1988, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Brian Bates and Janita Crook.  She served her community as a housekeeper at the Courtyard by Marriott in Speedway. 

Ashley was preceded in death by her mother, Janita Crook; grandmother, Sharon Crook; and grandfathers, Dennis Bates and James Crook.  

She was survived by her children, Jayla Crook and Jeremiah Elkins; father, Brian Bates and his wife, Paula Bates; Step-father, David Rice and his wife, Doris Rice; grandmother, Ruth Bates, grandfather, Kenny Rice; sisters, Kristal Watts, Amanda Watts, Kayla Poe and Alexis Wombles; brothers, David Watts, Jaydon Rice and James Wheeler; best friend, Amanda Harris; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., with a service celebrating her life at 4 p.m.  Cremation will follow services. 

The family has requested any memorial contributions go to the funeral home to help cover the cost of her services.
