Avonell Ruth Lane, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021. She was born on February 8, 1937 in Casey County, Kentucky to Oscar and Trica (Wethington) Lane. Avonell was a homemaker, devoted mother, and a loving wife. She was a member of the Church of the First Born, and an active member of Concord Center – Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and word searches, doing crafts, was an avid seamstress and quilter, would play a periodic game of Bingo and still find the time to watch Wheel of Fortune.
Avonell is survived by her son, Russell (Tonya) Lane of Indianapolis; her daughters, Vickie (Ronnie) Arthur and Beverly (Michael Arthur) Bailey, both of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Lane and daughter, Tammy Rector.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 South Meridian Street where funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
