Barbara Marie (Nelson) Drennon

Barbara Marie (Nelson) Drennon, 70, passed away at 4:44 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born on Sunday, January 31, 1954  in Indianapolis, to the late Virgil R. and Edith S. (Moody) Nelson.

Barbara was a self-employed housekeeper for several years. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church, Beech Grove. She enjoyed gardening, a nature lover of flowers and animals, working jigsaw puzzles, was a mediator - mother to all and spending her life with her two sons.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, Nathan D. Drennon of Beech Grove and Timothy N. Drennon of Shelbyville; four sisters, Roxie J. Ash and Juanita M. (Wayne) Simpson, both of Indianapolis, Ellizabeth A. (Preston) Westlake of Lakeland, Florida and E. Sue Leverenz of Stuart, Florida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Gray and three brothers, Virgil L., Charles R. and Thomas Nelson.

Family and friends may gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Faith Assembly of God, 186 Royal Road, Beech Grove, to share in remembering Barbara.
