Barbara "Barb" Jean (Ashby) Wampner

Barbara “Barb” Jean Wampner, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022 in Franciscan Health.  She was born on November 5, 1939 in Indianapolis to the late John and Mary Ashby.  Barb was a graduate of Warren Central High School. 

Barb is survived by her children, Pamela Kay Wampner, Kevin Lee Wampner, Judith Ann Wampner and James Edward Wampner; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews along with her extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Debra Lynn Wampner, her brother, John Ashby and sister, Francis (Hickok) Ashby.

Barb was a loving Mother and Grandmother and a friend to everyone she met.  She loved watching movies and tending to her flowers with her favorite being her roses.  She enjoyed playing Candy Crush on her phone and would never answer if in the middle of her game.  Barb retired from the Dinner Bell Market after 20 years of service. 

A special thank you to all her caregivers for their loving care and support during her final days.  The family would also like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home for being very accommodating and understanding during this very difficult time. 

Private services will be held and she will be cremated in keeping with her wishes.
