Bobbie David Hicks, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away after suffering complications from a medical emergency on July 20, 2023. He was born on November 7, 1945, in Monticello, Kentucky, to the late Ralph and Luzadie (Hardwick) Hicks. He married the love of his life, Marylyn S. (Guffey) Hicks, and they were married for 58 years and raised four children together.
Bobbie was a supervisor of maintenance and plant safety for Color, Incorporated. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union where he was a past president; he assisted with contract negotiations and served on the grievance committee. Prior to Color, Incorporated, he worked for Union Carbide for fourteen plus years. Bobbie was a great husband and father and was known at “poppy the cookie man” by his loving family. He will be truly missed.
Survivors include, his loving wife of 58 years, Marylyn S. Hicks; children, Bobby Ray Hicks, Katheryn Denise Morgan, Tracie Lynn Hicks and Jacob Dakota Hicks; son-in-law, Ray Morgan; grandchildren, Brooke Coleman, Jordon Whitaker, Jeremiah Ross, Paige Whitaker, Viktoria Hicks, Wyatt Hicks and one on the way. He is also survived by 2 brothers, 4 sisters, cousins and extended family.
