Bonnie Kay (Thompson) Erickson 81 went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2024, at St. Francis Hospice House, Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana on March 1, 1943, to the late Lum Fox Thompson and Jessie Luella Law.
She was a 1961 graduate of Greenwood High School. After high school, she took a practical nursing course and was a candy striper. Later she worked for Mayflower Trucking Company as a dispatcher. She then relocated to Carrollton, TX and began working for Sho-Air, Price Air Freight and Airways Freight as a logistics freight broker and a trade show coordinator for over 60 years before retiring. She obtained her real estate license and sold real estate in Texas and Indiana.
Bonnie was the “never met a stranger” member of the family and touched so many people in her life. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved doing genealogy with her sister, traveling, meeting with her Four Seasons Group, the 1961 Greenwood High School classmates and Alumni, and her friends at the Greenwood American Legion Post 335 where she was a member.
Bonnie is survived by her children Krista Clements of Lebanon, Tennessee, James Boswell of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren Brittany (Derenik) Culbreath, Bianca Clements, and Kara Fondren; great-grandchildren Drayden Culbreath, Mila Clements, and Aria Culbreath; sister Sandra (Richard) Baither; niece Deanna Kim (Brad) Pratt, nephew Richard Brent Baither; special friends Dr. Steve Atkins, Betty Kassing, Kelly Kirkman, Cheryl Agro and beloved neighbors Donald and Kimberly Cave.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In memory of Bonnie and her love for animals, we are asking in lieu of flowers that you can make a donation to your local animal shelter.
