Carey Anne (Mick) Kendall

Carey Anne Mick Kendall, 44, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, in Franciscan Health.  She was born on November 22, 1978, in Indianapolis to Michael Albert Mick and Leanne Gail (McKnight) Smith.  Carey married the love of her life, Anthoney “Andy” Kendall, on July 29, 2006; he survives.

Carey attended Cardinal Ritter High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana Wesleyan University.  She was the payroll and billing manager for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.  Carey liked to work out and take spin classes; she was known for raising money for cancer with her friends from Studio 317 Fitness by getting people to sponsor her as she rode for cancer.  Her legacy will always be her family, she was very focused and loved spending time with her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her husband and soulmate of 30 years, Andy Kendall; father, Michael A. Mick; mother, Leanne G. (John) Smith; children, Drew Tyler Kendall (Elyscia) and Owen James Kendall; siblings, Amy Mick, Michael Mick, II., Lisa Mick, Erica (Jared) Nuetzman and Emily Mick; sister-in-law, Amanda Davis; grandchildren, Karsyn Reese Kendall and Magnolia Ann Kendall; seven nieces and nine nephews.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, August 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., with a rosary service starting at 7:30 p.m.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 18 at 11 a.m. in St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania St., with one hour of visitation prior to Mass in the church starting at 10 a.m.   Burial will follow in the Gardens of Olive Branch Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to the American Cancer Society.
