Chala Ivy (Burroughs) Burton

Chala Ivy Burton, 24, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019.  She was born on August 13, 1995 in Macomb, Illinois to Chad and Jean (Birchall) Burroughs.  

Chala worked for Sorenson Communications as an interpreter and enjoyed volunteering at the local animal shelter where she loved walking the dogs. Even after life, Chala continues to prove her character through organ donation to four individuals in need.

Survivors include her loving husband, Cody Burton; mother, Jeanny Wooten (husband, Garrett); siblings, Justin Burroughs and Aurelia Wooten; maternal grandparents, James and Janice Birchall; paternal grandmother, Vivian Burroughs; Aunts, Jill Birchall (life partner, Clint); Autumn Hoyt (husband, Ed); and Uncle, Shawn Burroughs (wife, Lori) and cousins.  

She was preceded in death by sister, Christine Burroughs; aunt, Amber Burroughs; paternal grandfather, Roger Burroughs and her father, Chad Burroughs. 

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Chala’s life on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46225.   Knowing Chala, she would want us not to mourn by wearing black or formal clothes. Please come as yourself instead as we celebrate her life.
