Charles McKelvey

Charles C McKelvey of Elkhart IN passed away on Monday March 20, 2023 at the age of 65.

Known for his outgoing, positive attitude, Charles was loved by everyone he met.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, the residents and staff at Hellenic Assisted Living, Davita Dialysis, and all who knew him.

He loved bingo, pizza and most of all spending time with his siblings.

Charles was the oldest of 6 children born on April 1 1957 to Francis Laverne and Sharen McKelvey.

He graduated from Haughton High School in Haughton Louisiana in 1975 where he then went to serve in the U.S. Air Force until 1978.

Before he graduated he helped with the building of the Louisiana Downs in Bossier City La. 

Charles is survived by his siblings Barbara (Jon) Nelson of Goshen IN, Jerry (Priscilla) McKelvey of Goshen IN, John (Irene) McKelvey of South Bend IN, Mary Dygert (Todd) of Goshen IN and Rebecca McKelvey/Tramble of Elkhart IN, 

He was preceded in death by his parents Francis Laverne McKelvey and Sharen Laverne and his grandparents on both sides.
