Charles (Chuck) Dexter Parker, 75, passed away at his home on November 3, 2024.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 20, 1949, to Jack and Betty Parker, Chuck went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1979 and his master’s degree from the University of Indianapolis.
Chuck served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he worked for various companies, retiring in 2009 after 27 years at DFAS-Indianapolis.
Chuck enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, traveling, and cruising. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Parker; daughter Jennifer Cook (Chris); grandchildren Ian and Jude Cook; siblings Steve Parker (Margaret), David Parker, and Jackie Butler (Larry); in-laws Mary Kay Segasser (Paul), Elizabeth Appleby (Danny), Ed Kieffer, Kevin Kieffer, Christine Hamilton (John); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Jack Parker; his in-laws, Grace and Joseph Kieffer; brother-in-law Joseph Kieffer; and sister-in-law Jenny Kieffer.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.
Following the service, we will have a celebration of his life at Gallaghers Pizza on Thompson Road.
