Charlie Demetris Obituary

In Loving Memory of Charlie Clarece Heavenly Angel Brewer Demetris

September 8, 2000 – October 21, 2025

Charlie Clarece Heavenly Angel Brewer Demetris, 25, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from complications of Neurofibromatosis Type-1. Born in Columbus, Indiana, on September 8, 2000, she was the beloved daughter of Clarence “Doug” Brewer and Cheryl Lynn Linville, who preceded her in death. Charlie was lovingly raised by her mother, Cortney Lyne Demetris, who survives her.

Charlie had a zest for life that was both contagious and inspiring. She was joyful despite her health challenges and cherished the family and friends who surrounded her with love throughout her 25 years on this earth.

She was endlessly creative, spending countless hours drawing, painting, making pottery, coloring, making bracelets, and experimenting with resin and digital art. Her creativity extended to every part of her life—she loved good food and approached it with imagination. She delighted in designing her spaces, planning celebrations, and finding clothing or hairstyles that expressed who she was. In fact, she rarely complained about her circumstances—unless it involved food.

Charlie was so many things that words can only begin to capture. She was funny, with a knack for one-liners that could turn an ordinary moment into shared laughter. She loved to travel, explore, shop, and visit beautiful places—so long as it wasn’t too hot or buggy. She adored holidays and family gatherings, especially the fall season and Halloween. She loved being pampered, and even the smallest gifts could brighten her day. She was a fierce advocate for fairness and inclusivity, always standing up for others and celebrating people as they truly were. She loved animals (though not their hair) and cherished her time at CHAMP Camp, even if the outdoors wasn’t exactly her favorite part.

Everyone who had the honor of knowing Charlie was changed for the better, and those who knew her love were truly privileged. Above all, she will be remembered for her unshakable positive attitude in the face of adversity. In her 25 years, Charlie lived a full and meaningful life—marked by wisdom beyond her years and a heart that inspired everyone she met.

Charlie is survived by her devoted mother, Cortney Demetris; siblings Amanda Halcomb, Jennifer Brewer Hensley, Donyelle Brewer Robinson, Brittany Brewer Johnson, William Brewer, Nicole Demetris, Lanae Demetris, and Lailianna Demetris; grandparents Thomas and DiAnn Demetris; aunts and uncles Frank and Ashley Bocanegra, Kelsey Demetris, and Wayne and Missy Jefferson; and many extended family members, cousins, cherished friends, and beloved canine companions. In addition to her biological parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Avery Osowski.

A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held on Saturday, November 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Service, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis.
