Cynthia Diane Busboom, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 15, 1947, in Versailles, Indiana, to the late Stanley and Geneva (Ryan) Underwood.
Cindy lived her life with a heart wide open. A devoted wife and mother, she had a gift for making everyone feel like family. Many knew her simply as “Mom” or “Momma,” a name she earned through her kindness, her warmth, and her unwavering willingness to welcome anyone who crossed her path. During her son Ryan’s high school years, she became one of the beloved “band moms,” cheering, supporting, and caring for countless students as if they were her own.
A talented pianist, Cindy used to play for her church several years ago. She also loved the simple joys of life, especially Bingo nights. Every Wednesday, she could be found at Billy O’Neal’s Pub, laughing, playing, and enjoying the company of friends who cherished her presence.
Cindy will be deeply missed by her many friends and her devoted family, all of whom were touched by her generosity, her humor, and her boundless love.
Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Lowell “Buzz” Busboom; and son, Ryan “Bus” Busboom; and many beloved friends.
A celebration of her life will be announced in the near future.
