Dale Ross Waskom, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Ross was born on Monday, December 10, 1951 in St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove to the late Lowell Oscar and Vera LaVerne (Neely) Waskom.
Ross graduated from Emmerich Manual High School, Class of 1970. After graduating high school, Ross entered the U.S. Army, serving from December 21, 1970 to April 6, 1973.
After his discharge from the U.S. Army, Ross lived in Boulder, Colorado and worked with the U.S. Forestry Service. He enjoyed his motorcycle; tinkering around with cars and loved to be a jokester. Ross was a good friend to many.
Ross is survived by his sister, Beverly J. Mattison of Trafalgar; brother, Lester Waskom of Greenwood; his caregiver and special friend, whom the family is most appreciative of her care of Ross, Deena Kelly; several nieces and nephews and friends, Craig and Mary Walton of Morgantown. In addition to his parents, Ross was preceded in death by his brother, Lowell Keith Waskom.
Family and friends will gather to remember Ross's life from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ernie Pyle Veterans of Foreign War Post 1120, 1850 South East Street, Indianapolis. A private family inurnment will take place later in 2022 at Bluff Creek Cemetery, Greenwood, Indiana.
