David Alan Knott, 66, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born on January 17, 1958, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to Jerry and Barbara Knott. Dave attended Perry Meridian High School where he met Lisa Dawson, whom he later married and together they had four children.
Dave started his career as a union ironworker in the Fall of 1978 at Iron Workers Local 22 as an apprentice, advanced to journeyman, and at times served as foreman. He was highly skilled in his field, especially as a connector and welder, working on many major construction sites throughout the state of Indiana. Some of his finest achievements included working on The Bank One Tower, Regions Bank Tower, Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the first IMAX Theater, JW Marriot, and the AUL Building, where he set the final beam during the topping off ceremony.
Dave was an avid outdoorsman with a love for fishing, where he spent many weekends in Linton, IN fishing the strip pits. He also enjoyed hunting and shooting with his close friends. He will be remembered as a tough man who was dedicated to his job and worked tirelessly to provide for his family, rarely missing a day of work or taking a vacation.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Lisa Knott, children: Andy (Kendra) Knott, Megan (Taylor) Treesh, Eric Knott and Sara Knott (fiance Michael) and grandchildren: Hattie, Sydnie, Ellie, and Josie Knott, Eva, Nora, Ruby, and Hazel Treesh, Owen Knott, and Millie Laliberte.
We love you and will miss you Dad and as you always said to us as we would leave your house, we will BE CAREFUL!
