Dora Elizabeth (Horsley) Thurston

Dora Elizabeth (Horsley) Thurston, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021. Born Wednesday, January 10, 1934, in New Albany, Indiana Dora was the daughter of the late Newton Orville and Stella Mae (Carlisle) Horsley.

Dora worked for 15 plus years on the assembly line at RCA before retiring.  She took pleasure in babysitting for family and friends.  Dora would work outside tending to the flowers she planted.  As a good neighbor, she would take care of the neighbors’ pets.

Dora is survived by son, Robert “Bobby” E. Case; daughter, Debbie L. (Bobby) Gibson; sister, June Luider; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Edward N. Parham and Roderick B. Case; brothers, Jack L. and Earl K. Horsley; sister, Frieda M. Drudge.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2021, at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 South Meridian Street and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at West Newton Cemetery, West Newton, Indiana.
