Dwight Hineman died peacefully at home on December 3, 2025. Dwight Hineman was born on October 8, 1929, in Lyons, Indiana to the late Jesse Hineman and Ella (Phnolman) Hineman.
Dwight was a retiree of General Motors and devoted much of his time to his passion for Buicks. As a member of the Buick Club of America for more than 50 years, he cherished participating in Buick tours with his wife, Peggy. These tours provided them with countless memorable experiences shared together.
In addition to his love for automobiles, Dwight was a highly skilled woodworker. He crafted customized cabinets and restored antiques with care and expertise. His talents extended beyond woodworking, as he also built several homes alongside his son. Dwight was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was carpentry or concrete work, embodying the spirit of generosity and craftsmanship in all that he did.
Survivors include his children, Garry Hineman (Darla), and Connie Hornback (Steve); his grandchildren; Travis Hineman, Tyler Hineman (Danika), Daniel Hornback (Heather), Richard Hardymon, Robert Hardymon, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Dwight was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Peggy J. Hineman, their son Jay Hineman, as well as his brothers and sisters, Flora Orcutt, Evelyn Moore, Jack Hineman, Barbara Wullenweber, and Norman Hineman.
Graveside services are for immediate family.
