Edie Mae Courtney, 61, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Christmas Day, December 25, 2025. She was born on February 16, 1964, in Indianapolis to the late William Nunn and Sandra (Woolbright) Stevens.
Edie was a woman of remarkable creativity and warmth. A gifted craft maker, she poured her heart into everything she touched—from scrapbooking to floral arrangements and countless projects in between. She had a natural ability to brighten any room she entered, finding humor even in the most difficult moments. Above all, Edie will be remembered for her beautiful heart and the deep, unwavering love she held for her son and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Tommy (Chelsea) Courtney; siblings Patricia Chesney, William Nunn, Viola Nunn, Monte (Sally) Nunn, Melanie Anderson, and Davey Nunn; and her cherished grandchildren, Mason, Braxton, and Winsley Courtney. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever treasure her memory. Edie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Richard Nunn and Janet Barker.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis. A service celebrating her life will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
