Elizabeth Ann Kelly, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Born on July 26, 1943, in Indianapolis to the late James and Agnes (Moriarty) Reese, Elizabeth lived a life filled with devotion, laughter, and an unmistakable spark that endeared her to everyone she met.
A proud graduate of Sacred Heart High School’s class of 1961, Elizabeth went on to build a remarkable 40‑year career with Chase Bank, where her work ethic, loyalty, and quick wit left a lasting impression. She was a longtime member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and especially cherished her time helping with the annual festival, where her energy and enthusiasm were always in full bloom.
Elizabeth had a gift for finding joy in everyday moments. She loved attending plays and movies with friends, gathering for her weekly Euchre Club, and serving her community by working the election polls for many years. She was feisty in the best way — spirited, sociable, and always ready to try something new. Her dog, her beloved Fufi, was a constant companion, but nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with her grandchildren. They were the heart of her world, and she never missed a chance to celebrate their accomplishments or simply enjoy their company.
She is survived by her children, Mark Edward (Priscilla) Kelly, Mary Ann (James) Johnson, and James Patrick (Sharon) Kelly; her siblings, Thomas (Betty) Reese, Cecilia (Dallas) Scott, and Patricia Failey; her grandchildren, Holly (Troy) McFadden, Ashley Johnson, Shelby Kelly, and Shane Kelly; and her great‑grandchildren, Brayden, Brody, Rylan and Savannah McFadden. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Mary Ellen Lockwood and Katie Reese.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 9 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union Street, Indianapolis. Visitation will be held prior to Mass at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home, 1458 S. Meridian St., from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with morning prayers at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Cross/St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
