Elizabeth "Mac or Liz" Ann (McDougall) Katsafaros

Elizabeth Ann “Mac or Liz” McDougall Katsafaros, 44, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness. She was born March 28, 1982, in Beech Grove, Indiana to Rhonda Jo (Williams) Hopewell and Carl Ray McDougall.

Mac was a proud graduate of Southport High School, Class of 2000. She later earned her degree in Radiologic Technology from Ivy Tech Community College in 2018, where she served as president of her class. A gifted athlete, Mac excelled as a softball pitcher and competed twice in the Little League Softball World Series. She was also an enthusiastic fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Indianapolis Colts.

She is survived by her parents, Rhonda (Tim) Hopewell and Carl McDougall; her brother, Chris (Megan) McDougall; her maternal grandfather, Earl E. (Sharon) Williams; her nephews, Landon McDougall and Jeremy Sutherlin and niece, Isabella Hillmer; her step-sisters, Kristen (Alex) Hopewell Owsley and Shelby Hopewell; and her beloved dogs, Louie and Lainey. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cecilia and Warren McDougall and Beverly Ann Wheatley.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, April 18, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Tapestry Church, 3758 W. Whiteland Road, Bargersville. A service celebrating her life will begin at 11:30 a.m., officiated by Rev. Ryan Meek and Rev. Glenda Survance.  A meal will follow the service.  Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery will take place at 2:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mac’s honor may be made to the Community Hospital Foundation or Friends of Indy Animals. Envelopes will be available at the church.
