Frank John Iannuzzi, Jr., 76, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his home. He was born on June 20, 1944 in Indianapolis to the late Frank John Iannuzzi, Sr. and Dorothy (Schaffer) Iannuzzi.
Frank was a graduate of Emmerich Manual High School and had attended Indiana Central College and Louisville Technical College before joining the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. He was a lifeguard earlier during high school at the Long Acre where he met his former wife and mother of his daughter, Amy.
When in the Army in 1965, Frank was on the winning team of the National Championship in Water Polo. In 1990, at the age 46 years, he swam in the World Masters Swim Meet in Rio de Janeiro.
Frank retired from Allison Transmission/Rolls Royce after 30 years of employment and was a volunteer firefighter with Perry Township for many years.
Survivors include his daughter, Amy Sue Robinson; sister, Mary Shoenberger; granddaughter, Alexis Robinson; and great-nephew, Christian Stalder.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road, Madison, IN 47250.
