Franklin Moses Schott
Our precious baby boy, Franklin Moses Schott, died peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born on August 30, 2024, in Indianapolis, the beloved son of John Patrick and Anne Marie (Klein) Schott.
Franklin’s joyful spirit was nurtured by the deep love of his family and a bond with each of his siblings that was as unique as it was profound. He was a very attentive child who held a special connection with his mom and dad. Going for walks alongside his mom and spending time at nearby parks with her were some of his favorite activities to do together. Each morning, Franklin cherished sharing a bowl of oatmeal with his dad before bringing him his work shoes. His kindness was evident in his little acts of charity.
With nine older siblings, Franklin shared a one-of-a-kind relationship with each of his brothers and sisters. He was often referred to as a "carbon copy" of his oldest brother Teddy, who loved to be adventurous and race him through their yard in his favorite car. He was a curious sidekick to William, who spent hours in the garage or his bedroom teaching him how to tinker with gadgets and fix mechanical creations together. He found a strong protector in George, who was always ready to lend a hand and hold him. He looked forward to every wagon ride and peanut butter sandwich offered by his brother Abraham.
Franklin shared a rhythmic soul with his sister Veronica, as the two of them would roll, spin, and dance anytime the music started. He looked up to Bernadette like a second mother; she gave him her entire heart and had a knack for rocking him to sleep in her lap. Rebecca was his "wiry ball of fun" who could always be counted on for matching his excitement. Richard captivated him with his charm and a selfless willingness to always share his toys and books with him. Finally, he found a dedicated playmate in Joseph who would swing, play in the sand, and share bubble baths together. He was deeply loved by his family and anyone who encountered his precious soul.
From the day of his baptism, he was a beloved child of Jesus Christ, and his faith was a light that will continue to shine in the hearts of his family. Franklin will lovingly watch over his newest sibling, who will be joining the family this summer.
He is survived by his loving parents, John and Anne Schott; maternal grandparents, John and Peggy Klein; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Bonnie Schott; siblings, Teddy, William, George, Abraham, Veronica, Bernadette, Rebecca, Richard, and Joseph; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania Street. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed at 12:45 p.m. prior to Mass. No visitation will be observed prior to Mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
